Author(s) : DETZER R.

Summary

AIR SHOWERS ARE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN DESIRED CLEAN-ROOM ATMOSPHERE PURITIES AS WORKING PERSONAL ENTERS FROM (LESS CLEAN) GREY ZONES. PEOPLE ENTERING THE CLEAN ROOM ARE TO BE CLEANED OF PARTICLES AND THESE PARTICLES ARE TO BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY. THE KLP AIR LOCK FORMS A THREE-DIMENSIONAL AIR SWIRL WHICH IS STABLE AGAINST OUTSIDE INFLUENCES. THIS DUST PARTICLE LOADEN AIR FLUX IS DRAWN OFF CENTRALLY. THIS AERAULIC PRINCIPLE AVOIDS BACK SWIRLS OF PARTICLES MOST EFFICIENTLY. THE AIR SWIRL IS CREATED BY 2 VERTICAL AIR JETS, WHICH ARE DIRECTED ACROSS THE ENTRANCE PATH. THE JETS ARE ENHANCED BY 2 ADDITIONAL VERTICAL AIR JETS, WHICH ARE PRESSED ALONG THE CYLINDRICAL SIDE WALLS OF THE AIR LOCK.
