A NEW APPLICATION OF CONCRETE PREFABRICATION FOR FIRE PROTECTION IN HIGH-BAY DEEP-FREEZE STORE-/WAREHOUSE.

UNE NOUVELLE APPLICATION DE LA PREFABRICATION LOURDE, POUR LA PREVENTION DES INCENDIES DES ENTREPOTS FRIGORIFIQUES AUTOMATIQUES DE GRANDE HAUTEUR.

Author(s) : HUONDER A.

Summary

NEW LOGISTIC APPROACHES TO THE STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION OF FROZEN FOOD PRODUCTS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS HAVE RESULTED IN THE FOLLOWING INNOVATIONS: FULLY-AUTOMATIC DEEP-FREEZE STORES, AND HIGH-BAY AUTOMATIC STORAGE SYSTEMS INCREASINGLY TAKING OVER TRADITIONAL METHODS OF STORAGE. HOWEVER, UNTIL RECENTLY, THESE INSTALLATIONS COULD NOT BE PROTECTED EFFECTIVELY AGAINST FIRE HAZARDS BECAUSE SPRINKLING SYSTEMS DID NOT WORK AT LOW TEMPERATURES. THIS ARTICLE PRESENTS A NEW SYSTEM WHICH GUARANTEES ECONOMICAL PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION.
