Summary

A new instrument has been developed for an on-line real-time measurement of oil circulating rate in refrigeration system utilizing an ultra-violet light absorption behaviour of oil. A dual optical path configuration was introduced to the flow cell of this instrument, and it allows the instrument to perform dual beam absorbance measurement which contributes to provide quite stable and precise results. This instrument was applied on oil circulating rate measurement on several refrigeration systems in transient state.
