Summary

The paper describes and evaluates a theoretical study focused on a new method for designing jet-pumps of the type used in jet-pump cycle refrigerators. The method assumes a constant rate of momentum change within the diffuser passage of a supersonic jet-pump. Theoretical results described in the paper indicate significant improvements in both entrainment ratio and pressure lift ratio, above those achievable from jet-pumps designed using conventional methods. Experimental data are also presented; they support the theoretical findings.
