Summary

The author gives the historical background related to the refrigerant recovery sector, from its launching in 1993. He describes the main features and its structure. He then describes the study made by Ecole des Mines on this French recovery sector – equipment in the scope of the EEE and VHU regulations and also the general sector – and those from other countries with their advantages and disadvantages. He finally presents the main recommendations of modifications to the French sector and informs about the current work performed by the stakeholders in order to implement these recommendations.
