A novel concept for boiling heat transfer enhancement.
Author(s) : ZHOU D. W.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The effect of bubble nucleation on boiling heat transfer enhancement has been investigated experimentally. Results show whether boiling heat transfer is enhanced or not depends directly on effective activation of vapour embryos on the heat transfer surface to initiate boiling. The mechanism of boiling heat transfer enhancement is analysed and the factors influencing incipient boiling superheat are summarized.
