Summary

A practical scale drying system with a heat pump was designed to recover the exhaust heat, including latent heat, of a drier and utilize it for heating the inlet air, and the performance of the heat pump was tested. The experimental apparatus comprised a heat pump system with compressor, evaporator, condenser and air circulation system with ducts, drying chamber and blower. The COP of the heat pump was about 4-5.
