Absorption chillers: state of the art, perspectives, ambient impact.
Refrigeratori d'acqua ad assorbimento: stato dell'arte, prospettive, impatto ambientale.
Author(s) : LAZZARIN R., CASTELLOTTI F.
Summary
The operating principles of the absorption chiller are briefly described, using examples taken from commercially available equipment illustrated both regarding the working scheme and performance. Possible improvements are analysed, stressing the major difficulties met in the realization. Finally, the absorption technique is studied from the ambient impact point of view with reference to the greenhouse effect and thus through the Total Equivalent Warming Impact (TEWI).
