THE PRINCIPLE OF ABSORPTION CYCLES OPERATING WITH A CONDENSABL E AUXILIARY FLUID IS PRESENTED BOTH IN THE REFRIGERATION (HEAT PUMP) MODE AND IN THE HEAT-TRANSFORMER MODE. THE CASE OF AN ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION CYCLE USING AMMONIA-WATER AND A HYDROCARBON AS AN AUXILIARY FLUID IS ANALYZED MORE THOROUGH THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED WITH 2 PROTOTYPE UNITS ARE PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED.
