AN EXPERIMENTAL COMPARISON OF AMMONIA-WATER AND AMMONIA-WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE MIXTURES IN AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP.

Summary

THE PERFORMANCE OF AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP OPERATING WITH AMMO NIA-WATER AND AMMONIA-WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE MIXTURES IS COMPARED. THE HEAT PUMP WAS DESIGNED FOR THE AMMONIA-WATER SYSTEM BUT OPERATED SUCCESSFULLY AND WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS WITH THE TERNARY SYSTEM. THE PRESSURES AND MOST OF THE TEMPERATURES SHOWED ONLY MINOR DIFFERENCES. THE COP WITH A TERNARY MIXTURE WAS, ON AVERAGE, 0.05 LOWER THAN WITH THE BINARY SYSTEM.
