Summary

ABSORPTION OF LONGITUDINAL ULTRASOUND IN THE HIGH-TEMPERATURE METAL-OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR YTTRIUM-BARIUM-COPPER-OXIDE WAS EXPERIMENTALLY STUDIED. THE TEMPERATURE OF SUPERCONDUCTING TRANSITION WAS 91 K. IT WAS REVEALED THAT WITH TEMPERATURE DECREASE CLOSE TO 150 K ULTRASOUND ABSORPTION ABRUPTLY DECREASED, REACHED A MINIMUM AT 130-140 K, AND THEN AGAIN INCREASED. BELOW TRANSITION TEMPERATURE ANOTHER MINIMUM IS OBSERVED IN ABSORPTION.
