Accident compensation in the air conditioning industry.
Author(s) : RENNIE D. A.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Under revised legislation in New Zealand, compensation from national funds will no longer be payable for illnesses caused by air-conditioning systems (including Legionella) or passive smoking. Such claims must be made under common law against the offender. It is therefore most advisable for manufacturers, contractors and owner/users to protect their interests by practical methods and by adequate insurance. A.R.T.
