Adsorption cycles for refrigeration based on activated carbon-ammonia pair: physical characteristics of adsorbents and performances.

Author(s) : FOLLIN S., GOETZ V., GUILLOT A.

Summary

The COP of adsorption processes in refrigeration depends on the refrigerant fluid, the adsorbents and the thermodynamical working conditions of the cycles. The energetic performances of the basic cycle and the resorption cycle in the case of the use of ammonia as the adsorbate are estimated from the Dubinin-Astakhov equation. It makes it possible to connect the COP with the physical characteristics of the activated carbons: the micropores volume and the mean pore size.
