Summary
The article discusses test results on new insulation processes without CFC-blown polyurethane foams. The objective is to ban completely the use of CFCs in insulation. New insulants are described: vacuum powders in evacuated envelopes or partial-vacuum aerogels, also protected by evacuated envelopes, or vacuum bodies made in metal or ceramics. The applications are mainly in ships and containers for sea transport.
