Summary

New equipment for creating and maintaining controlled atmosphere for storage and transportation of fruit and vegetables was developed, installed and tested. Installations based on hollow fiber membranes and on electrochemical removal of oxygen and a membrane removal of carbon dioxide are considered. Trial transportation of fruit in refrigerated rail cars with controlled atmosphere was carried out.
