Summary

THE EFFICIENCY OF A CROSSFLOW AIR-AIR HEAT EXCHANGER, WITH WATER EVAPORATION IN THE COLD FLOW IS EVALUATED. THE RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH THOSE OF THE SAME EXCHANGER, WITHOUT EVAPORATION. THE SINGLE-DIMENSION DISTRIBUTIONS OF THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF THE MIXTURE AND OF THE TITRE OF WATER VAPOUR ARE OBTAINED ANALYTICALLY. THE COMPARISON SHOWS THAT THE FORMER IS MORE EFFICIENT BY 10 TO 30% THAN THE LATTER AND THE MODEL UNDERESTIMATES THE EVAPORATION PROCESS. ANYHOW, THE EFFICIENCY CAN STILL BE INCREASED BY THE USE OF OTHER MORE EFFECTIVE EVAPORATION SYSTEMS.
