Summary

WHILE AIR BLAST FREEZING SYSTEMS INSTALLED IN LARGE SIZE FISHING VESSELS ARE EFFICIENT, THEY HAVE CERTAIN DISADVANTAGES AND THE AUTHOR REPORTS ON THE IMPROVEMENTS CARRIED TO OFFSET THESE DRAWBACKS. EQUIPMENT WEIGHT HAS BEEN REDUCED BY EMPLOYING ALUMINIUM ALLOYS, COOLER SURFACES HAVE BEEN INCREASED, SYSTEM PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN MADE MORE STABLE BY THE USE OF ELECTRONIC CONTROLS AND GREATER AUTOMATION IS BEING EMPLOYED IN THE PROCESSING OF FISH PRODUCTS.
