Air-conditioning in mining and tunnelling.

Klimatisierung im Berg- und Tunnelbau.

Summary

In many mines and tunnels under construction the heat flow into the air is very high because of high rock temperatures and high installed machine capacities. To avoid poor climatic conditions air conditioning facilities have to be designed. Decentralised air cooling systems are generally used when the required total refrigeration capacity is relatively small. In the case of large total refrigeration capacities, preference should be given to an air-cooling system with centralised refrigeration for economic and technical reasons.
