Air cycle refrigeration.
Author(s) : GIGIEL A. J.
Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
Various air cycles, reverse Joule, Claude and their system options are detailed and discussed. Open air cycle follow and some details of various installations are given in schematic form. The closed air cycle is also discussed and followed by a number of applications for air cycles currently under investigation: food freezing, train air conditioning, containers and other transport vehicles, buildings, drying, and retail display cases. The process energy comsumption and the total cost of use are deciding factors when comparing air to other refrigerants. G.R.S.
