Coldblast: air cycle freezing system.
Author(s) : SHAW R. J., KICZEK E. F., ROSSMAN J. C.
Summary
Coldblast fresh air freezing system is a commercially viable open cycle air refrigeration technology. The Coldblast refrigeration technology brings an economical cryogenic freezing environment to large volume in line process freezing operations. The Coldblast system brings the food processor improved yield, taste, texture and appearance at costs comparable to state-of-the-art mechanical ammonia freezing systems. With the Coldblast system fresh air is the refrigerant so the environmental and safety concerns of using CFCs and ammonia are eliminated.
