Air infiltration through background cracks due to temperature difference.

Summary

This paper describes experimental work in which it was found that the rate of air infiltration due to temperature differences through cracks is proportional to the temperature difference between two adjoining rooms (or a building and the atmosphere) which the cracks connect. This finding agrees with theoretical predictions. The experimental results also confirm that the infiltration rate increases with increasing vertical distance between cracks.
