Summary

THE TAGUCHI GAS SENSOR IS CAPABLE OF MEASURING THE DEGREE OF AIR CONTAMINATION. THE SENSOR SIGNAL ACTS ON THE FAN SPEED OR ON A MIXING AIR DAMPER VIA A PROPORTIONAL CONTROLLER. THIS MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO REDUCE THE MINIMUM OUTSIDE AIR VOLUME REQUIRED DURING FULL OCCUPANCY. THE EXTENT OF THE SAVING DEPENDS ON THE INTERNAL HEAT GAIN, THE OUTSIDE AIR RATE PER PERSON, AND THE ROOM OCCUPANCY. A NUMERICAL EXAMPLE IS INCLUDED. E.W.S.
