Air-side heat transfer enhancement on wire-and-tube type condensers and its influence on energy consumption rationalization in household refrigeration appliances.

Author(s) : ZAWADZKI A.

Summary

The measures, which may be used in order to enhance the effectiveness of "wire-and-tube" condensers have been analyzed on the basis of experimental work results. As the result of the increase in thermal performance of condensers of this type, the household refrigeration appliances will be more efficient and their electric power consumption will be lowered. The experimental investigation results have been presented and the influence of condenser working parameters on the refrigeration unit performance has been discussed. Several methods of air-side heat transfer enhancement on "wire-and-tube" type condensers have been mentioned. It seems that condensation temperature decrease as a result of air-side heat transfer coefficient increase is particularly important in spite of power consumption reduction.
