Summary

This is one of 4 reports by AFF "Heat pump" Commission (see also IIR Bulletin, ref. 98-2610 and this Bulletin, ref. 99-1311 to 99-1313) on a study performed for EDF by CoSTIC. Each report is structured along the same lines and provides technical rules and practical advice on implementation. This guide focuses on outside air/water heat-pump systems with heat outputs of under 50 kilowatts, designed for use in single-family houses. The system involves the use of either underfloor heating alone, or reversible underfloor heating/cooling. This publication is based on existing regulations. Summary: description of systems; heat pumps (standardization and regulations, sizing, performance, installation); hydraulic network; floor; control; putting into operation; maintenance. The appendix contains the following: a list of projects and standards; a description of types of underfloor heating structures described in EN 1264, the new European standard.
