Summary

This is one of 4 reports on a study performed for EDF by CoSTIC; this study investigated systems with heat outputs of under 30 kilowatts, designed for use in single-family houses or small commercial/institutional buildings. The system is used either with underfloor heating alone or with reversible underfloor heating/cooling. Each report is presented in the same manner and contain regulations which must be taken into account at all stages of construction, and when maintenance and technical assistance are provided. This report also gives a detailled description of these systems and their implementation. Each document provides additional information besides that given by existing regulations and is updated whenever new regulations are published. The appendix contains the following: a list of French standards and projects for standards; a description of types of underfloor heating structures described in EN 1264, the new European standard; how digging of trenches and drilling should be performed.
