Summary
HFC-134a and some HCFC-123 have been used as refrigerants for centrifugal chillers for the last 25 years, but there are many candidates as alternative HFC refrigerants such as HFO-1234ze(E), HFO-1234yf, HFO- 1233zd(E), HFO-1224yd(Z), and HFO-1336mzz(Z). We report the technology characterized by the application of high-efficiency centrifugal chillers optimized for specific refrigerants and application examples of highefficiency centrifugal chillers that use HFO-1234ze(E) and HFO-1233zd(E).
