Alternatives for R22 in the USA and the rationale for their selection.
Author(s) : HUGHES M.
Summary
The paper adresses the three primary alternatives for R22, R134a, and R407C and R410A and where they are likely to be used. Although R410A is expected to be the dominant replacement for R22, both R134a and R407C are expected to find usage in niche applications where the high pressure of R410A is viewed as an economic barrier. The economics which favor the selection of R410A for most applications are discussed and demonstrated to a limited extend.
