Summary
Much of the TEWI direct expansion refrigeration systems is caused by refrigerant emissions from using R404A in supermarkets. Indirect cooling employing secondary refrigerants and a compact liquid chiller using ammonia will considerably reduce TEWI. The author describes plant in detail and gives comparisons.
