Summary

SIX AMMONIA-SALTS BINARY MIXTURES FOR USE IN VAPOUR ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS USING LOW GRADE THERMAL ENERGY SUCH AS SOLAR ENERGY, WASTE HEAT INPUT HAVE BEEN STUDIED. THESE MIXTURES HAVE BEEN COMPARED ON THE BASIS OF COP, PUMPING FACTOR AND PHP/TON OF REFRIGERATION FOR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE OF 278 K (5 DEG C), ABSORBER AND CONDENSER TEMPERATURE OF 313 K (40 DEG C) BY EVALUATING THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF THE MIXTURES. THESE MIXTURES HAVE A GOOD POTENTIAL AS BINARY MIXTURES FOR VAPOUR ABSORPTION SYSTEMS FOR INDUSTRIES IN THE TEMPERATURE RANGE OF 363 TO 393 K (90 TO 120 DEG C).
