Summary

A FACILITY FOR THE TESTING OF FREIGHT CONTAINERS IS NOW IN OPERATION IN SYDNEY AT THE FOOD RESEARCH LABORATORY OF CSIRO. THE JACKETED CONSTRUCTION PERMITS VERY GOOD CONTROL OF TEMPERATURE OVER THE RANGE 278 TO 323 K (5-50 DEG C). THE FACILITY WILL BE USED FOR THE THERMAL TESTING OF INSULATED CONTAINERS OVER A RANGE OF MEAN WALL TEMPERATURES AND TO SIMULATE THE CONDITIONS DURING LAND AND SEA TRANSPORT.
