An experimental evaluation of water/Carrol in an absorption heat transformer.

Summary

The present study has shown theoretically and experimentally that a heat transformer operating with a lithium bromide-water solution with an antifreeze additive such as that used in Carrol has advantages over the conventional lithium bromide-water working mixture. Higher temperature lifts were obtained without a reduction in performance. More information on other factors such as heat and mass transfer rates in the system and on the thermophysical properties of Carrol in the temperature range for heat transformer operation are needed to complete the analysis.
