An experimental study of convective boiling of refrigerants R22 and R410A.

Summary

The two-phase heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop characteristics of refrigerants R22 and R410A for a smooth tube with a 6.54 mm in diameter are presented in this study. The data were taken at an evaporative temperature of 2 deg C. It is found that the heat transfer coefficients for R410A are 10-20% higher than those of R22 for G= 100 kg/m2.s. For G= 400 kg/m2.s, the heat transfer coefficient for R22, depending on the prescribed heat flux, may be higher than those of R410A at a certain vapour quality. The pressure drop of R410A is about 30-40% lower than that of R22.
