Summary

A new approach to energy utilization at the Stuttgarter Hofbräu AG brewery is highlighted. Fired by natural gas, the power plant comprises a hot water reservoir and a compressor for beer vapour with a high temperature (140 deg C) of circulating water. The plant has been operated since the end of 1990. In June 1991, the city of Stuttgart conferred its first environmental award on the plant.
