Summary

THE COP OF THE ADSORPTION REFRIGERATION CYCLE USING AN ACTIVATED CARBON-METHANOL PAIR WAS STUDIED EXPERIMENTALLY AND THEORETICALLY. FROM THE EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH IT WAS FOUND THAT THE VALUES OF THE COP DEPEND ON THE CONDENSING PRESSURE OF METHANOL VAPOUR, THE MAXIMUM DESORPTION TEMPERATURE AND THE EVAPORATING AND ADSORPTION TEMPERATURES. THE COP REACHES A MAXIMUM WHEN THE MAXIMUM DESORPTION TEMPERATURE IS ABOUT 373 K (100 DEG C). A MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION FOR COP IS PRESENTED FROM THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS.
