Brief note summarizing the control methods to identify ionized food, methods which have been examined by the Bureau Communautaire de Références (BCR) of the Commission of European Communities (ADN method, microbiological and biological methods, physical methods and chemical ones). Nine first protocols have been proposed to the European Committee of Standardization, but applied research is essential to extend their application. J.R.
