Analysing different types of valve controlled pulse-tube refrigerators with RCL analogy.

Summary

Different types of valved pulse tube refrigerators are being studied by using analogous electrical circuits (RCL). One current source is required for modelling the double inlet pulse-tube refrigerator. The 4-valve configuration is modelled by implementation of a second current source. For all configurations, the acoustic power at the cold end and the phase angle between pressure and volume flow are studied as a function of different adjustable parameters of pulse-tube refrigerators. Numerical results are given for an existing 2 Hz single-stage pulse-tube refrigerator designed for about 100 W of refrigeration power at 70 K.
