ANALYSIS OF LOCAL EXPLOSION WITHIN ALUMINIUM PLATE-FIN MAIN CONDENSER OF AIR SEPARATION PLANT.

Author(s) : YAN Z.

Summary

THE ARTICLE REFERS TO PROBLEMS THAT HAVE OCCURRED IN AN AIR SEPARATION PLANT IN CHINA. EXPLOSIONS IN THE MAIN LIQUEFACTION CONDENSER HAVE BEEN DUE TO IMPURITIES PRESENT IN THE OXYGEN. ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM POINTED TO THE PARTICULAR CONFIGURATIONS OF THE CONDENSER BLOCKS RELATIVE TO DRAINAGE AND SAMPLING POINTS. CHANGES IN THE ARRANGEMENT LEADING TO BETTER MIXING, AND MORE EFFECTIVE SAMPLING TO CHECK FOR EXCESS IMPURITIES, APPEAR TO HAVE OVERCOME THE DIFFICULTY. D.W.H.
