Summary
The aim of the study is to investigate the forced-convective thermal-hydraulic characteristics of pin-fin heat exchangers. Convective heat transfer through the pin-fin assembly is analyzed using both the interfacial heat transfer model and the forced convection heat transfer model. The influence of the structure of the pin-fin assembly including the pin-fin spacing and the pin diameter on heat transfer is investigated using the previous analytical results and existing correlation equations.
