THE BULGARIAN PRODUCTION OF RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS FOR HEAT PUMPS HAS RAISED SOME PROBLEMS, THE MOST IMPORTANT BEING RELIABILITY WHEN OPERATING UNDER HEAT PUMP CONDITIONS WHERE HIGH CONDENSING TEMPERATURES, ACCOMPANIED BY HIGH SUCTION TEMPERATURES ACCELERATE THE WEAR OF MOVING PARTS. THE AUTHORS HAVE THEREFORE SET OUT TO FIND AN ANALOGUE BETWEEN THE OPERATING BEHAVIOUR OF A COMPRESSOR WORKING IN THE LOADED CYCLE OF A HEAT PUMP SYSTEM AND ITS BEHAVIOUR DURING AN ACCELERATED TEST ON THE SERVICE LIFE OF THE MACHINE BY APPLYING SEVERE OPERATING CONDITIONS DURING THIS TEST.
