Summary

The present article contains a review of the basic issues related to current compressor heat pumps regarding computational comparative cycle selection criteria. The current trends and directions of development were indicated of high temperature air heat pumps. In part 2 published in Chlodnictwo 9/2015, a review was provided of selected modernization methods of the two-stage cycle that permit one to obtain the systems of the so-called quasi two-stage compressor heat pumps. Empjasis was placed on substantial computational problems in designing cascade comparative cycles of heat pumps and the methodology to determine the inter-stage temperature in the cascade cycle in particular.
