Summary

Combustion engines still release a significant part of the heat generated from the combustion of fuel into the environment along with exhaust gases. At the same time, additional energy extraction is used for refrigeration and air conditioning. Earlier, there were only two possibilities to use engine exhaust gases heat for cooling: absorption machines and ejector refrigeration machines. Today, with the development of organic Rankine cycles, there are new opportunities for cooling in transport.
The analysis of cooling systems based on absorption, ejector and ORC with natural refrigerants as working fluids for transport is carried out.
Comparative data on the efficiency of systems are obtained, recommendations on working fluids, modes of operation and fields of application of transport coolers are given.
