Summary

Theoretical cycles designed for cooling and heating at variable temperatures are analytically studied. Simple approximate correlations of the COP for a triangular cycle are obtained. The prospects of applying multistage machines, single-compressor machines, operating on the use of refrigerant mixtures, semiconductor thermopiles, and also supercritical cycles with heat removal at a variable temperature for the processes of cooling and heating, are presented.
