Summary

THE ORIENTATION DEPENDENCES OF THE CRITICAL MAGNETIC FIELDS, H, OF VANADIUM-SILICON SUPERCONDUCTING SUPERLATTICES WITH VARIOUS THICKNESSES OFLAYERS ARE INVESTIGATED. SAMPLES ARE CHOSEN IN WHICH CROSSOVER FROM A THREE-DIMENSIONAL BEHAVIOUR NEAR THE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE TO TWO-DIMENSIONAL BEHAVIOUR AT LOW TEMPERATURES OCCURS AT PARALLEL ORIENTATION OF H AND THE SUPERLATTICE LAYERS. AT LOW TEMPERATURES THE H DEPENDENCES CAN BE DESCRIBED BY THE MODIFIED TINKHAM FORMULA. THE INVESTIGATION OF H DERIVATIVE IN FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE NEAR PARALLEL ORIENTATION IS CARRIED OUT. GOOD AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS AND THE THEORY FOR REGULAR SUPERLATTICES WITH JOSEPHSON LINKS BETWEEN FINITE THICKNESS SUPERCONDUCTING LAYERS IS OBSERVED IN FIELDS WHOSE STRENGTH EXCEEDS THE CROSSOVER FIELD STRENGTH. THE DEVIATION FOR WEAK FIELDS CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO SUPERLATTICE INHOMOGENEITIES.
