Summary

RESEARCH IS CONTINUING ON THE POSSIBILITY OF THE APPLICATION OF COMPACT HEAT AND/OR MASS EXCHANGERS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GAS-FIRED ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP FOR DOMESTIC HEATING. THE CHOSEN COMPONENTS ARE PLATE-FIN TYPES WHICH SHOWED, BASED ON THE ABSORBER, A HIGHER HEAT FLOW RATE AND AREA DENSITY. A COP OF 1.3-1.6 CAN BE OBTAINED. WITH MASS PRODUCTION INVEST-MENT COSTS CAN BE REDUCED AND TOGETHER WITH POSSIBLE ENERGY SAVING, IT CAN BE ECONOMICALLY ATTRACTIVE.
