Summary
The article describes the problems encountered in modern server rooms and discusses their air conditioning systems as well. In order to optimize and reduce costs associated with the use of these systems a technique called computational fluid dynamics (CFD) can be applied. This method is based on the numerical solution of basic equations describing the thermal - flow processes such as: continuity, momentum and energy equations. The article contains an example of the numerical results performed for a real server room.
