APPLICATION OF THE CONVERSION-INFLUENCES LAW FOR STREAMS IN AMMONIA REFRIGERATION PLANTS.

Summary

THE CONVERSION INFLUENCES LAW HAS BEEN USED FOR SUPERHEATED VAPOUR STREAMS IN TWO-STAGE AMMONIA REFRIGERATION PLANTS. IT IS SHOWN THAT VAPOUR STREAMS COOLING MADE BY INJECTION OF LIQUID AMMONIA UNDER SUBSONIC VELOCITY (MACH NUMBER LOWER THAN 1) ALLOWS NOT ONLY TO REACH TEMPERATURES CLOSE TO THE SATURATION STATE BUT ALSO TO RAISE THE STREAM PRESSURE. THESE DATA CAN BE USED FOR DESIGNING INTENSIVE DIRECT CONTACT COOLERS.
