Appropriate design of vaccine cold chain refrigerators for poor nations.

Author(s) : ISLAM M. H.

Summary

In some developing countries, vaccine refrigerators did not work properly because humid air could penetrate to the evaporator tubes as a result of airtightness defects. This humid air generates frost at the tube surface. During power failures, which are frequent in these countries, this frost melts and increases rust formation and leakage. Manufacturers must take into account the proper conditions in developing countries in equipment design.
