Summary
Analytical expressions are given to estimate in a first approximation a body cooling-down period under various cooling conditions, with regard to a possibility of phase transition and without it, obtained by means of simple mathematical models. Analysis has shown that calculation results on given relationships differ by no more than a factor of 1.5-2.0 from the results of numerical solution methods for a non-stationary heat conduction equation with phase transition. In some cases, similar accuracy is admissible for engineering estimations of a body-cooling period.
