Summary
THE STORAGE LIFE DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY OF POTATO BROUGHT INTO THE STORE AND ON ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS DURING STORAGE. STORAGE LIFE OF GOOD POTATO CROP CAN BE EXTENDED TO 10 MONTHS OR LONGER BY MAINTAINING POTATO TEMPERATURE AND AIR HUMIDITY IN THE STORE AT THE OPTIMAL LEVEL AND BY KEEPING TUBERS SURFACES DRY. THIS NECESSITATES A GOOD INSULATED STRUCTURE PROVIDED WITH THE FACILITIES FOR EFFICIENT COOLING, DRYING AND HEATING OF POTATO AND A GOOD MANAGER TO OPERATE THE STORE.
