Summary

Within the scope of an EU research project, thermal anemometers from different manufacturers were compared with a LDA (Laser Doppler Anemometer) under model room conditions. Comparisons were carried out with different kinds of aerodynamic room flows, air change rates and heat loads. The article presents the measuring principle of thermal and LDAs, it demonstrates the measurements on a 1:1 scale. It also demonstrates how the measured air velocities for the estimation of the aerodynamic room flows by means of statistical methods are developed and presents the results of these measurements.
